Before Attending A & E
Please ring the surgery (during daytime surgery hours) Monday 08.30am - 08.15pm, Tuesday - Friday 08.30am - 6.30pm, Saturday, Sundays and Bank Holidays. We will try to accommodate you with an emergency appointment, children under 5 will be seen as a priority.
With the national focus on improving the length of wait in A&E Departments, Surrey Downs CCG would ask everyone to consider, when appropriate, the following services available in Surrey as potential alternatives to self-referring to Epsom & St. Helier's A&E Department.
Patients with Minor Eye Problem including:
- Eye pain
- Red or sore eyes or eyelids
- Dry, gritty or uncomfortable eyes
- Irritated or inflamed eyes
- Watery eyes or sticky discharge from the eye
- Flashes or floaters in the eye
- Ingrowing eyelashes
- Suddenly reduced vision
- Foreign body in the eye (e.g. small piece of grit or wood)
- Excessive tears

If you wish to see a GP or nurse without an appointment you can visit the GP led Health Centre at Impact House, 2 Edridge Road, Croydon, CR9 1PJ at the weekend and on bank holidays. The centre is open 7 days a week between 8am - 8pm. Croydon NHS Walk-in Centre, open every day of the year, offers fast and convenient access to healthcare advice and treatment seven days a week. No appointment is needed. Services include treatment for minor injuries and illnesses and advice on staying healthy.
